Finikia Horses was founded by Gregory Karagiorgas & family on 1987 in Heraklion - Crete as genuine horse lovers. We have been serving people for almost 3 decades providing a high quality of service and Cretan hospitality.



We will pick you up in the morning (around 08:30), just a step outside your hotel, and start heading to the village of Finikia, where we will warmly welcome you to our premises! You will have the time to discover the amazing scenery around, take a look at the horses & enjoy the coffee offered. After that, we shall start our horse riding lesson, where you will have the chance to find out your riding skills.

Romantic Moonlight Tour €80/per adult

The Romantic Moonlight horse riding tour starts at 17:30, where we will pick you up outside of your hotel! We will drive to Finikia and gather for the horse riding lesson. You will be given the appropriate horse and we will then start heading to the mountains of Finikia with the horses and the wagon. You will have the chance to explore Cretan nature on horseback riding and enjoy the panoramic view of our capital city and the Cretan sea combined with the amazing sunset.

“Best part of our holiday”

We wanted to do something different while in Crete, apart from just beaches and pool, and also something in the evening when the sun wasn't so hot (there was a bit of a heatwave when we were there). This trip was perfect - George (so friendly and funny and good with the kids) picked us up at 5:45 and drove us to the farm where we met up with other groups from Eddie's bus. Well- Eddie is crazy funny, he really put everyone at ease with his humor. My 2 kids and partner and I had never been on a horse before and that really did not matter because they really made us all feel at ease and gave us good instructions. A guide stayed with my kids the whole time up the mountains. We stopped for a rest and photos in the Cretan mountainside which had lovely views. Back to the farm for dinner which was lovely and they weren't happy until everyone's plate was full and glasses were full of wine. This was the best part of our holiday and would really recommend it!!

We had such an amazing time at the horse riding. It will be one of our best memories. The laughs, fun, sunset, scenery, food and company. You gave us great confidence - especially when one of us had not ridden a horse before. Your hospitality was impeccable. Your energy was vibrant and we all communicated even though from very different places with different languages. If anyone has a chance to do this trip please go. The best time ever! “What an excellent trip!”

We took this trip as a couple and we could not have had a nicer day. The total trip takes a little over 2h and takes you up a hill and back down with a little refreshment on top. I am an experienced rider but also for the very beginners the horses were well trained so everyone enjoyed their trip. What made this trip so memorable were the two crazy hosts which made a riding trip into a real fun happening. After the riding there is a lunch which tasted excellent and even some desert. The transport to and from the hotel/city is also included. I booked this trip via contacting them directly by mail and I got an answer very quickly and they always have enough spots for everyone. So I can clearly recommend this trip a lot.
