Our Commitment to Animal Welfare At Finikia Horseriding
Our animals are not simply part of our farm—they are part of our family. At Finikia Horseriding, the well-being of our animals always comes first. Our horses work only during the coolest hours of the day, when temperatures are comfortable and safe for them. They participate in a maximum of three rides per day, each lasting approximately 50 minutes in the nature, and every horse enjoys at least two full rest days each week. During the rest of the day, they relax in spacious paddock where they can move freely, graze & socialize with other horses, choose between sun and shade, and enjoy unlimited fresh water and high-quality alfalfa hay. Each horse receives a carefully balanced diet, including three daily meals and constant access to forage. On hot days, electrolytes are provided to support proper hydration, and whenever weather conditions are unsuitable, rides are reduced or cancelled entirely for the horses’ comfort and safety. Our horses receive regular veterinary check-ups, professional farrier care, and continuous monitoring. The entire horse area is covered by cameras, allowing us to supervise their well-being both day and night. After rides, horses are cooled with fresh water, and regular grooming is part of their routine care.
We are especially proud that some of our horses were rescued from difficult situations and given a second chance. They begin trail riding only when approved by our veterinarian and when they are physically and emotionally ready.
Likewise, our senior horses remain with us for life. Once retired, they continue to receive the love, care, food, and attention they deserve, without being ridden.
Our farm is also home to six lovely rescue dogs who were once stray animals. Today, they live safely with us, fully vaccinated, sterilized, well cared for, and loved members of our farm family.
We believe that animals deserve kindness, dignity, and a life worth living. Every decision we make is guided by this belief.
When you visit Finikia Horseriding, you are not only supporting unforgettable experiences in nature—you are supporting a home where animals are respected, protected, and loved every single day.
